The Optometric Procedures Institute (OPI), an online educational resource of the A.S.O.S. consists of Sustaining Members, Fellows, and Student Members. 

Sustaining Membership is open to optometric physicians, affiliated professionals and industry colleagues who support excellence in optometric care, have demonstrated an interest in and/or have made significant contributions to the fields of primary care procedural optometry, ophthalmic lasers and advanced therapeutics as determined by the Society's Membership Nominating Committee. 

Fellow status (F.A.S.O.S.) is a distinction bestowed by the A.S.O.S. Board of Directors upon Sustaining Members who have met the criteria for Fellow of the A.S.O.S. as set forth by the Society’s Board.

Student Membership is open to any optometry student in good standing, enrolled at an accredited or provisionally accredited School or College of Optometry, pursuing the Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree.  OD Residents may be granted student membership status while completing an AOA accredited residency.
